European Chore Coat

The French had a straightforward term for it: bleu de travail, or “work blues.” It referred to the simple, affordable, indigo ensembles that were once worn by laborers and artisans and now grace the vintage marketplace—the just-formal-enough chore coat in particular. Our latest version of this useful style (which is also available in military olive green) is made from sturdy, stretch-cotton twill that’s manufactured in the Lombardy region of northern Italy and garment-dyed for richer color. Features mitred patch pockets, durable double-needle construction, and corozo buttons. Made in Portugal. 97% cotton, 3% elastane. Washed Olive or Pilot Blue. S-XXL. G1733
