Striking, alluring. Shopping London’s vintage, we unearthed a 1916 officer’s coat, sewn of humble cotton but regal in form, replete with military details. French, of course—who else would approach the utilitarian with such soigné style? We teamed up with expert tailors to replicate it from the epaulets to the oversized pockets. Faithfully crafted of Japanese cotton cord, stonewashed to capture the vintage hand. Dramatically domed antiqued brass buttons close the placket and pockets. Made in Portugal.
